This policy explains what information Lotmite collects, how it is used and the choices you have. It covers the website lotmite.com and the Lotmite app for Android. In this policy, "Lotmite", "we" and "us" mean the operator of lotmite.com and the Lotmite app.
Information you give us
- Account details: your name, email address and password. Passwords are stored in hashed form. You can also add details such as a phone number, address or profile picture.
- Listings: the title, description, price, location, photos and contact details you enter. Listings are public, so anyone can see what you publish, including anyone who is not signed in.
- Messages: what you send through contact forms, the feedback form or a message to a seller.
- Site assistant chats: what you type into the chat assistant and the replies it gives. Please do not enter sensitive information in the chat.
- Payments: a record of what you paid for, the amount and the date. Card and cryptocurrency payments are handled by our payment providers. We do not receive or store your full card number.
Information collected automatically
- Technical data: your IP address, browser or device type, the pages you request and the time of each request. Our servers record this in their logs, and we store the IP address used when you sign in or publish a listing.
- Cookies: see the Cookies section below.
The Android app
- Location: if you use "Near me" and grant permission, the app reads your approximate location to sort listings by distance. This happens on your device. The app does not send your location to us. You can turn the permission off at any time in your Android settings.
- Saved listings: these are stored on your device and are removed if you clear the app's data or uninstall it.
- Requests to our servers: searches and listing requests reach our servers like any web request, so they include technical data such as your IP address.
- The app contains no advertising or analytics tools. Posting and contacting a seller open the website, where the rest of this policy applies.
How we use information
- To run the site and app, including accounts, listings, search and messages between buyers and sellers.
- To process payments and keep records of them.
- To answer your questions and send emails about your account, listings and orders.
- To protect the service, including preventing spam, fraud and abuse.
- To meet our legal obligations.
Who we share information with
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not show third-party advertising. We share information only as described here:
- Other users: your listings and public profile are visible to everyone. When you contact a seller, the seller receives your message and the contact details you provide.
- Voice calls: if you use "Call the seller", the call connects directly between the two people whenever possible, so each side's device may be able to see the other's IP address. We do not record calls.
- Stripe and CoinPayments: process payments. They receive the payment details you give them, under their own privacy policies.
- Google: reCAPTCHA protects our forms from spam and Google Maps shows locations. When these load, Google receives technical data such as your IP address and may set its own cookies. See the Google Privacy Policy.
- Anthropic: provides the AI model behind the site assistant and receives the messages you type into it.
- Postmark: delivers our emails and receives the email address and message content.
- Hosting and content delivery: our hosting provider stores the site's data, and a public content delivery network supplies the site's icons, which means it receives technical data such as your IP address.
- Legal reasons: we may disclose information if the law requires it, or if needed to protect the rights or safety of our users or others.
- Business changes: if Lotmite is sold or transferred, information may pass to the new owner, who must honor this policy or give you notice of any change.
Cookies
We use a small number of cookies that keep the site working, such as keeping you signed in. These include oc_session, oc_master_id and oc_master_created, which can last up to three years unless you delete them. The site assistant also uses your browser's temporary storage to remember whether the chat window is open. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies. Google may set cookies through reCAPTCHA and Maps. You can block or delete cookies in your browser, but some features, including signing in, may stop working.
How long we keep information
We keep account and listing information while your account or listing is active, and for as long as needed to run the service. Payment records are kept as long as needed for tax, accounting and legal purposes. Chats and messages are kept until we delete them or you ask us to delete them, unless we need to keep them for a legal reason or to prevent abuse.
Your choices and rights
- You can view and change your account details and edit or delete your listings by signing in.
- You can ask us for a copy of your personal information, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing admin@lotmite.com. This includes deleting your account. We may need to confirm that the request is really from you, and we may keep information the law requires us to keep.
- Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under local law. Contact us to use them, and we will not treat you differently for doing so.
Security
We use encrypted connections (HTTPS) and limit access to our systems. No service can be completely secure, so please use a strong password that you do not use anywhere else.
Where information is processed
Lotmite lists land in the United States and welcomes visitors from anywhere. Our servers and service providers may be in the United States, Europe or other countries, so your information may be processed outside the country where you live.
Children
Lotmite is for adults and is not directed at children. You must be at least 18 to create an account or publish a listing. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this page and change the effective date above.
